This blog I read was on the Cool cat teacher blog. It was about becoming a better student. It's very helpful because it gives a lot of extra homework tips and study habits for all the students of the world and beyond. You can find lots of ways to become a better student by never cheating off people, handle problems with teachers, etc. This was interesting to read.

Stretch task 9

I read the blog "10 Ways to be Wonderful: Happy Birthday Kip!". It is about a woman talking about her wonderful husband and all that he has done for her. In honor of his birthday, she decided to write a blog describing 10 ways to lead a wonderful life, just as he does. Some of her tips to have a great life include channeling your energy in positive ways, setting a morning routine, being trustworthy, etc. All of her tips are great for leading your life in a positive, wonderful way. Her husband Kip seems like an amazing person. I enjoyed reading the blog.

Stretch task #8

"Turn Me to We: Get Along, Work Together, Protect Kids from Adult Arguments"

This blog described how adults need to control their natural fighting instincts when they are in front of children. Kids hear way more than adults think they do, which is most often the issue in schools. This starts to hurt the child's learning ability and how they interact. It can also cause much stress in a child's life if they know that their teachers, people they look up to, aren't getting along. Especially when the kids are already stressed out or under pressure about something, this is an issue. There are solutions to help adults get along better, which can be just do something nice for each other, like bringing special coffee, laughing, and encouraging others. I think that this blog is important to read for teachers, because they can also start thinking about the students they teach instead of about their own feelings.

Stretch task #7

Presley Estate Sues for Hunka-Hunka Burnin' Ringtone Royalties
For this week's blog reading, I read "Presley Estate Sues for Hunka-Hunka Burnin' Ringtone Royalties". It discusses Elvis Presley's tremendous success as a recording artist. However, his corporate group has filed a lawsuit saying he was "unjustly exploited during his lifetime by his record company" because technology like ringtones weren't seen in the future.. This lawsuit wants to have proper payment generated by Elvis's recordings and was filed in Germany thanks to the country's "equitable enumeration rights". I don't think this lawsuit was very valid, but maybe as more information about it is released, we will all understand it better. This blog was interesting to read!

Stretch Task #2 redone

I found this blog very interesting to read because I had no idea that Google  used so much energy and was so universally popular. I knew it was a huge and prosperous search engine (more than a billion searches a day!), however, I didn’t realize just how much energy it uses until I read that it uses enough energy to power 200,000 homes. That seems like so much energy, but Google argues that this makes the planet a little greener. They say that while this may seem like a lot of energy, it saves people different types of energy who actually search things on Google. For example, if a person wants to go to the library to check out a book, they can save fossil fuels in their car fuel by just searching information about the book on Google. Along with saying that they are the “greenest search engine”, Google fights to keep the title. I thought this blog was very interesting and informational, and I found out things I hadn’t known before. I enjoyed it!

Stretch task #6

I read the blog "Wired Textiles for a Phone as Useful as the Shirt on your Back" this week. It is about John Volakis wanting to  make the world totally hands free when it comes to cell phones! He wants to create a shirt that uses technology to collect, store, send, and receive information just like a cell phone. Mainly he wants to do this for the jobs that need it most, such as military wear and hospital gowns. This would be extremely helpful  to people with jobs like this because then they could be hands free and continue on with their difficult work. It's going to be a very cool piece of software and I fully support Volaski's invention, especially for the careers that need it most.

Stretch Task #5

In the article "Jobs' Death Caused by Respiratory Arrest, Cancer", it described the death of Steve Jobs, founder and CEO of Apple. He died because he had pancreatic cancer and had been battling it on and off since 2004. He died at home a day after they announced the iPhone 4S. His death was tragic and greatly affected the world. He was a great man who was brilliant and gave so much to technology. Advancing technology was the focus in his life and he always will be remembered for the things he did.
